Glossary - Building Reports

Building Reports are required by Mortgage lenders and borrowers.
A surveyor carries out a survey which is known as a building report for a UK mortgage borrower, this shows any defects or faults on the property which might affect the buying of the property.

Example: Building survey report
This report is suitable for residential properties and gives a clear picture of the construction and the condition of the property. This may be needed if the property is of unusual construction or is dilapidated or when a major renovation is planned. It can be made to the client’s requirements.

Useful Tip
The building report will include technical information about construction and materials plus details of any defects whether they are major or minor ones. If the consumer is worried or unsure about any areas, the surveyor should be able to help them.
