Glossary - Removal Fees

Removal Fees are expenses for moving property contents.
If a company is hired to move contents and belongings from one property to another removal fees will have to be paid. Moving your furniture and belongings into the property is the last stage of the buying process and although not that expensive removal costs are often overlooked.

Example: Moving in to Property
One of the most forgotten stages of the property purchasing is the moving in and inhabiting the the property. The removal company must be paid for moving the furniture. Companies like gas, water and electric should be informed of the change of ownership. All electrical appliances need to fitted. Companies that are used or owed must be informed of the change of address.

Mortgage Tip
Legal expenses and utilities could amount to as much as 5% of the purchase price of the property that you are buying; buyers wishing to have a deposit should look to save up to 10% - 15% of the property value. This would probably then also cover things like removal charges.
